April 1st marks the start of Earth Month, and we have plenty of opportunities for you to celebrate and take action. Earth Month is a month-long observation to collectively raise awareness and advocate for change around the issues most impacting our planet, with Earth Day (April 22nd) being the biggest day to encourage environmental action. Check out what's coming up:

Earth Day Sidewalk Chalk

Butt Blitz (April 1-30)

Get involved by joining individually or with a team of 10 people to pick up cigarette butt litter around London this April! As part of the Canada-wide event, our goal is to collect 1,000,000 butts from the environment to be sent for recycling. Visit our webpage here to sign up.

Green in the City 2022/2023 Finale (April 4)

Join us at the Wolfe Performance Hall on April 4th to hear from veteran broadcaster and longtime Weather Network host, Chris St. Clair, for a keynote presentation on local weather and climate adaptation. Following the keynote, we will hear from a panel discussion featuring local sustainability experts from Doug Tarry Homes and Western University. There will be time for mingling, refreshments, and a book signing with Chris St. Clair. Click here to RSVP for this free event.

20-Minute London Makeover (April 21)

Grab a bag and gloves and head outside your home, school, or business to pick up litter and help spruce up our city! Tidy up outside for just 20 minutes, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish! Visit the London Clean & Green page here for more information.

Community-Wide Clean-up (April 22)

From 9am-noon, join an existing planned clean-up or start your own in your area. For more information on Community Clean-ups happening in the North, South, East, and West ends of the city, click here.

Earthfest (April 22)

After the Community Clean-up, head over to Earthfest at Citi Plaza & Dundas Place!

Earthfest is a free event that aims to promote awareness about environmental issues and provide a space for the community to get involved in environmental action! Booths and vendors will be spread throughout Citi Plaza, Central Library, and Dundas Place.
